Eurasian jay in the quiet fields of the Warta valley — a rare moment when a cautious bird stayed close enough for a few careful frames
It wasn’t a technical shot. It was finishing the memory so the image could tell the same story my mind kept replaying.
Why This Moment Stayed With Me
Looking at the photo now, I understand why encounters like this matter. They slow you down and pull you out of your routine. Nature doesn’t always offer grand scenes — sometimes it’s just a quiet moment with a curious bird on a bare branch, and that’s enough.
Out in the waking fields of the Warta valley, where wildlife usually stays well out of range, this jay paused. It gave me a look and just enough time to take the shot. The air had that early spring chill — not yet warm, but no longer bitter. The light was returning. For a moment, it felt like nature meeting me halfway.
That’s why the memory stuck.
