Coot chicks are not the birds most people notice when visiting Arturówek Park near Łódź. Most visitors come for the beach, playgrounds, rope courses, cafés, or simply to enjoy a sunny day by the water. My family and I came for the same reason, but as often happens, I also brought my camera.

On a sunny spring day, I went for a short walk around my usual lake — the one close to home where I often go to watch water birds and catch the evening light. It’s not a big or spectacular place, but it’s quiet and easy to return to throughout the year.
